I highly recommend Shift Driving School Gateshead for beginners or anyone with some prior experience. Their website is excellent, and the app is incredibly user friendly, it makes booking lessons, tracking progress, making payments, and setting your availability so simple.One of the things that impressed me most was how quickly Shift matched me with an instructor. Within a week of purchasing my package, I was driving. Other companies I contacted took over two weeks just to respond and told me I’d be waiting up to five weeks for an instructor. Choosing Shift was definitely the best decision I made.I had Simon as my instructor, and he was fantastic. He was super flexible with my hectic schedule, gave me honest and constructive feedback, and used the app to track my progress so I could clearly see what I needed to work on and what I was already doing well. This made the lessons streamlined and efficient.Simon also gave me the confidence to believe I was ready before I even felt it myself and he was right. Thanks to his teaching, I passed my driving test with zero faults (not even a single minor!).Overall, Shift offers great cars (Mercedes 😉), an easy to use system, and most importantly, excellent instructors. Huge thanks to Simon for making the learning experience such a positive one!

Super organised with their own app which helps you fit your lessons in whenever you like. Lewis is so patient and supportive and very calming when you’re just beginning. He has really developed my confidence and I couldn’t recommend Shift and Lewis enough!

After a terrible experience with a previous instructor, I gave up on learning for a long time. I was skeptical of driving schools because of my experience but I was greeted warmly by the staff at Shift on our first call. I also had the pleasure learning with Simon, who made driving enjoyable and helped me overcome driving anxiety. And I passed on my first attempt 🎉. I recently joined Shift driving school after wanting a change in career as I had done the same line of work since leaving school and wanted to experience a change. Since the first enquiry I was made to feel very welcome and any questions I had were answered. I looked at other driving schools but shift stood out more than the rest.I decided to complete my training with Shift, both trainers Alex and Lewis were really knowledgeable and supportive during the process. They both gave constructive and helpful feedback. Any time I asked for help they were more than happy to do so. The training I received has been really helpful, structured but also really enjoyable. From when I started and not knowing anything about instructing or teaching lessons compared to what I know now I feel like I have learnt alot and quite confident. The training fees were alot cheaper than what other driving schools are charging but after completing the training and the amount of support I received would of happily paid more if I had to.I have now worked at shift for a few months as an instructor and can say it's the happiest I've been in a job. I have always had a good student supply from day one and still offered more if I would like them. If there is anything I am ever unsure of there is always someone to help including the other instructors. Shift do alot of the work for you making life easier such as give you an app to manage your diary, teaching materials, supportive information and a very reasonable weekly fee meaning you have more time to actually concentrate on teaching lessons or enjoying your free time.Shift has a good family feeling to it where you are not just a number and they actually genuinely care. I would not look to go anywhere else and very happy here. If you are looking to become an instructor this is definitely the place.

My driving experience with Kelli at shift driving school was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The patience that Kelli provides for her students is unlike no other. I had previous instructors who were very impatient and it made my driving experience a horror show, but Kelli made me fall in love with driving again. She uses great words of affirmation to tell you how well you are doing but is also not afraid to give her honest opinion when you need to hear it the most. I am now a fully licensed driver and its all thanks to Kelli.

I was abit anxious about the idea of driving a car for the first time but within minutes of getting in the car I felt very at ease, my instructor Simon was very friendly and welcoming, easy to talk to and answered my questions, what I thought would be a horrible experience turned out to be a Fantastic one and I can’t wait for my next lesson.

I 10000000% recommend this driving school my instructor has been appsalutly amazing he had so much patience and really helped me through all my lessons then he recommend me a nervous course which really helped me as I really struggled with my nerve on my test but I finally done it and passed my test and I wouldn't have been able to do it if it wasn't for lewis so thank u sooooo much :)
