What are the requirements to join Shift's Franchise?
We only want the highest possible standards for ever single one our students, regardless of their experience or abilities. That’s why we’re only looking for the best of the best. We require our franchisees to hold a valid PDI or ADI driving instructor’s license issued by the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) in the UK. You must have a passion for both driving and teaching.
What kind of marketing and advertising do you do?
We advertise on our website, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and of course, some of our instructors vehicles. We can also provide you with complimentary business cards or a QR code for your vehicle. Our waiting lists are automatically sorted into ability, drive type, personality type and area to enable us to match you with the best students for you where possible.
What are the fees associated with joining Shift?
There are no hidden fees here! Our competitive fees can be located by clicking here. Whether you’re joining us as an ADI or PDI, we aim to save you as much money as possible, but still provide you with all the tools and support necessary so you can concentrate on doing what you do best, being an awesome teacher. Don’t forget, when you qualify as an ADI you automatically move to our ADI franchise plan which is currently £55 per week.
How many hours do I have to work and what kind of availability do I need to have?
This is where the job really has its advantages! You can work as much or as little as you want too. As long as you look after our students that we give you, the choice is yours.
How much control will I have over my diary and which students I work with?
We allocate students based on both the instructors and students availabilities. As for your diary, you are free to liaise with the pupils directly and can work as much or as little as you want.
Is there a minimum contract term for a franchise with Shift?
There are no lengthy contracts here! We believe that if our instructors are happy with us, they don’t need tying in to lengthy contracts. We do offer a Sponsored package for new instructors where the initial training fees are paid for by Shift, this does however come with a 3 year contract.
Are there any perks when joining a Shift franchise?
